One person was killed while two others were injured when a gas leak took place at a factory located at an industrial area at Ghalopar in north-east Mumbai on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at 8 am when Methanol and Cyanuric Chloride leaked on the premises of a factory in Kurla Industrial Estate.
The fire brigade personnel, who rushed to the scene, identified the person killed as one Ramnivas Sarod (360, who died after inhaling the toxic gasses.
Two others identified as Rubin Solkar (36) Sarvansh Sonavane (25) have been admitted to the nearby Brihanmumbai Municipal Coporation-run Rajawadi Hospital where the condition of both the persons was described as stable.
The cause of the gas leak has not been established as yet. The BMC fire brigade are looking into the circumstances leading to the mishap.
